If the pergola remote does not work, check the switch and battery first; if the remote opens, remove the rear screws and wipe the inside with cologne. Remotes usually fail in 1–1.5 years; a spare cannot be paired in advance, and service pairs a new one.
Short answer
If the remote of a bioclimatic pergola stops working, check the switch and the battery in that order. If the remote can be opened, remove the rear screws and wipe the inside with cologne. In the field remotes usually fail in 1–1.5 years; one remote is paired per product and a spare cannot be paired in advance.
Checklist
| Step | Check | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Is the switch / fuse on? | Switch on the supply to the pergola; if it trips again, call service. |
| 2 | Remote battery | Replace the battery. |
| 3 | Dirt inside the remote | If it opens, remove the rear screws, wipe inside with cologne, dry and close. |
| 4 | Still not working | The remote may have failed; service pairs a new one. |
Why can't a spare remote be paired?
One remote is paired per pergola; pairing a second one in advance is not possible. If the remote breaks or is lost, our service team pairs a new one. Keeping remotes away from heat, damp and dust extends their life.
What if the power is cut?
A bioclimatic pergola has no manual closing lever. A backup power supply is recommended; in an emergency contact our service team and do not tamper with external supply yourself. For voltage fluctuations see motor and electronics faults.
Together with maintenance
Maintenance every 6 months includes a general system check (bioclimatic pergola maintenance). Louvres should be closed in rain and wind. All our products carry a 2-year warranty; see the maintenance guide for after the warranty.
