Zip screen models: vertical zip and ceiling zip (Sky Zip) — which goes where?

Zip screens come in two models: the vertical zip for façades and the ceiling zip (Sky Zip) under glass roofs. Here is which suits balconies, pergolas, restaurant terraces and winter gardens.

In short

A zip screen is a motorised outdoor blind whose fabric edges lock into side rails with a zip. There are two models; where the screen goes decides which one you need.

By location

Balcony: vertical zip on side and front openings; check building rules with your management and municipality. Pergola: the most common use is the sides of a bioclimatic pergola. Restaurant terrace: keeps service going in sudden wind and rain. Winter garden: Sky Zip stops the glass roof overheating in summer.

Limits

  • Single vertical screen up to 4500 mm wide × 3000 mm high; wider façades are split.
  • Cuts wind by about 70%; rain drains down the fabric, not inside.
  • Wind resistance up to 120 km/h.
  • All our systems carry a 2-year warranty.
